A Second Take On “Awake”
Awake was a wonderful thriller. It kept me watching every moment until the end. I really think this movie had a wonderful plot and was excellently performed. A lot of movies leave you hanging or with unresolved questions, but this movie did not. The cast was great. I give the movie 4 & 1/2 stars. This movie is worth owning (or renting multiple times). The all star cast gave it their all and it shows.
This movie was first reviewed by WMWB in her post titled Two Movies - One Night! If you would like to know specifics on the movie please click here to view her review.
Below is some info on anesthetic awareness for those of you who were wondering.
Anesthetic awarenss is when not enough anesthia has been given to induce unconsciousness due to inexperience or ineptness. According to www.medterms.com, the frequency of this occurring is anywhere from 20,000 to 40,000 cases each year out of an approximate 21 million surgeries a year (The movie states 1 in 700). The drugs used for anesthesia can cover up any warning signs that the patient is waking up such as, an increase in heart rate or blood pressure. Because of this, research is being done with EEG’s to actually measure the brain activity itself, instead of relying on your anesthesiologist’s visual opinions of just how well you are actually doing.

haha, i will soon.

I liked the trailer for awake, but somehow felt the ending will be predictable, a must watch for me still though, i’ll be watching 21 today

I think 21 will be good, I mean Kevin Spacey + Cards = good movie. I have always been interested in logic behind counting cards (ever since I first watched Rain Man). I can’t wait to hear your review of the movie!

Hmm. I’ll look into the logic behind it for you. I get curious myself because I don’t do it on purpose, but I count cards. My granddad did too. It’s not intentional though…

Awake… was it predictable? Is it too thrilling(scary)? I can add it to my might see list, lol.
6m are you going to review HnK? I really dont think I will like that one.
What are some good love triangle/forbidden love movies? I tend to like those, hehe. And really sad/serious movies too.

Mirchi-It was not a bad movie and no not too thrilling, you should watch it. I am pretty sure 6mile will review H&K 2.
love triangle/forbidden love movies…..You would probably love The Other Boleyn Girl
Sad/serious movies… You should see Reservation road.
I have reviewed both of those movies if you want to check the posts out.

Oh for some reason I had thought you gave them bad reviews, but I looked back now and I guess they were middle road reviews. I dont know what reservation road is about, will have to look it up. Thanks for the suggestions!

Mirchi,
If you like romantic comedies, you might look into watching The Wedding Planner, Monster in Law, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. For some forbidden love/serious movie types, you might check out Don Juan DiMarco..it has some comedy in it, and William Shakespear’s Romeo and Juliet (199
edition I believe. It is the one with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. The acting in it is excellent and believable, and really follows the play very well. I’ll probably write a review on some of those I mentioned above soon.
