“Forgetting Sarah Marshall”

Recently, I decided to go to the movie theater with a few friends. We decided to see “Forgetting Sarah Marshall.” I felt that perhaps it was just meant to be for me to watch this movie, but should be titled “Forgetting *insert name here*” that recently hurt me.

Plot synopsis courtesy of wikipedia.com…

“Composer Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) has spent five years adoring his girlfriend, television star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). While writing a Muppet-type Dracula musical, he’s the guy left holding her purse in paparazzi photos and accidentally omitted from acceptance award speeches. Things take a twist when she breaks up with him, and Peter suddenly finds himself alone. He undergoes an unsuccessful bout of womanizing and a night of sex with a woman he barely knows, but besides an STD scare, all this does is increase his stress and heartache. After an on-the-job nervous breakdown, he sees that not having Sarah may just ruin his life.”

The movie also stars Mila Kunis as Rachel Jansen, Russell Brand as Aldous Snow *Sarah’s new, rockstar boyfriend*, Bill Hader as Bryan Bretter *Peter’s step-brother*, and Liz Cackowski as Liz Bretter *Peter’s step-sister-in-law*.

MPAA Rating: R

This movie is positively rated R due to sexual content, language and definite nudity. I think the producers wanted to parody the great number of movies that show women’s naked body parts by showing a guy’s naked body parts. There were a lot of sexual innuendos and other puns presented in the movie if you were paying attention. I recommend this movie to anyone that liked such movies similar to the “40 Year Old Virgin” since that is kinda what this movie was like. Those under 17 should not see this movie without adult supervision/permission.

I give this movie a 4 star recommendation!

This movie was a hilarious, romantic comedy about the trials and tribulations associated with dating and relationships. And for a hint to those guys out there, if a girl says never call or write her again after such a thing as a near mistake, trying just ONE more time will not hurt. We just need our time to get over the initial shock and hurtfulness of such a thing, but honesty will win you more respect than you can ever truly know!
